Learn Outstanding Assertive Communication Skills for Better Results at Work and at Home!

It’s no mistake and should come as no surprise, those who are assertive in life and in the workplace achieve success. Many times though, we are afraid to ask for what we need, feeling we are pushing or being rude to others.

Today’s business environment requires that we have the flexibility to step up to those challenges we are dealt with to win. Assertive behavior is a necessity. This assertiveness skills workshop helps participants understand that expressing needs, utilizing strong vocal and non-verbal communication skills and saying NO are critical to success.

Participants learn to recognize both their own and others assertiveness style. They practice active listening and to learn to identify and de-escalate conflict when it occurs. The session employs activities and role-play exercises for maximum participant outcomes.

Participants will learn to:

  • Recognize personal rights and responsibilities and how to address them

  • Understand the spectrum of style anchored by the extreme behaviors of passiveness and aggressiveness

  • Increase their personal influence and contribution as a leader

  • Understand their own and others individual assertiveness style to be more effective

  • Say NO to take back control and set personal and professional boundaries

  • Convey confidence by practicing effective vocal, visual and verbal communication skills

  • Practice active listening

  • Implement a problem solving model for emotionally charged situations to help achieve win-win outcomes

  • Become aware of anger tactics and diffuse them

  • Address conflict when it arises and de-escalate it successfully

  • Manage stress for optimum performance

Great course with a great instructor. Liked having a smaller group in the course which allowed us more time for questions and getting to know one another. I would definitely refer my peers to this course.
